The Road to Rights
Founded in 2009 in Sri Lanka by Ashan Perera, The Road to Rights began as a childhood dream to serve humanity and empower young people to create change. Today, it has grown into a global movement, inspiring youth to promote human rights education, equality, and sustainable development. At Road to Rights, we believe that every individual has untapped potential waiting to be discovered. Sometimes, that potential is hidden, waiting for the right challenge to bring it to life. By providing opportunities, pushing boundaries, and promoting creativity, we help young people unlock their true capabilities, enabling them to lead, innovate, and transform their communities. Through education, advocacy, and action, we nurture young changemakers who believe in a future where human rights education, peace, and sustainability are not just ideals, but realities.

G17 University Ambassadors Consortium (G17 UAC)
As part of this vision, The Road to Rights International established the G17 University Ambassadors Consortium (G17 UAC), a global fellowship program dedicated to strengthening the future of work by shaping university students into resilient, impact-driven leaders. Each year, we appoint 17 ambassadors per university, each representing one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through hands-on leadership training, real-world projects, and policy advocacy, these ambassadors gain the skills, adaptability, and global mindset needed to thrive in an ever-evolving world. G17 UAC is more than just a fellowship. It is a transformative experience that prepares young people not only to lead change in their communities but also to navigate and shape the future of work. By challenging perspectives, promoting innovation, and equipping students with the tools to drive sustainable progress, we empower them to become the professionals, entrepreneurs, and changemakers of tomorrow.

About the Website
This website was created as part of the G17 University Ambassadors Consortium global fellowship program to fulfil a key requirement in completing the G17 Ambassadorship by the G17 Ambassador for SDG 13: Climate Action at SLIIT. This project aims to raise awareness about the urgency of combating climate change, promote sustainable practices, and inspire collective action toward achieving SDG 13: Climate Action.
